Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who navigate with a keyboard, use a screen reader, magnify the page, or need reduced motion.

The standard we aim for

This site is built to conform to theWeb Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. WCAG 2.2 is backward-compatible with 2.1, which is the benchmark used under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

We hold the sites we build for clients to the same standard. It is part of the work, not an add-on.

What that means in practice

• Every part of the site can be reached and used with a keyboard alone, and the element you are on is always clearly outlined.
• A "skip to content" link is the first thing you reach on every page.
• Headings are in a real order, so a screen reader can be used to navigate the page structure.
• Images have text alternatives; decorative images are marked as such.
• Every form field has a visible label, and errors are explained in words rather than shown only as a colour.
• Text and interface elements meet WCAG AA contrast levels, and the page still works at 200% zoom and on a narrow screen.
• If your device is set to reduce motion, the site does not animate.
• Buttons and links are large enough to use comfortably on a phone.
• The site works with JavaScript turned off. Nothing essential is hidden behind a script.

What we don't use

We do not use an accessibility overlay or widget. Those tools do not fix underlying problems, and they can interfere with the screen reader or keyboard setup you already have configured. We build accessibility into the site itself instead.

Known limitations

The home page has an animated background behind the opening headline. It is decorative, carries no information, and is hidden from screen readers — but it does animate for visitors who have not asked their device to reduce motion. If your system is set to reduce motion, it does not animate.

We are not aware of any other outstanding accessibility problems on this site. If you find one, it is a genuine gap and we want to hear about it.

If something on the site is blocking you from reaching us, email us with whatever detail you can and we will follow up directly.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is not a one-time state. We review the site when we change it, and we treat reports from visitors as the most reliable signal we have.
